REX PRIDE

At 14 years old, Rodriguez left the Roman Catholic school he was attending, Monsignor Percy Johnson, and enrolled in Kipling Collegiate. When he later concluded that he needed to transition, it didn’t get any better – finding that many in the school’s large cohort of socially conservative Muslim students were just as unwelcoming as the Roman Catholic kids from Monsignor Johnson.

BROTHERS LIMITED

In 2017 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto empowered over 2500 children and youth in our city.

The Search Institute®’s 40 Developmental Assets framework, has become the most widely recognized and most frequently cited approach to positive youth development in the world.  We use this framework as our service model foundation, building upon a solid evidence-based approach.

Every $1 invested in our programming returns between $18-$23 to society through taxes, higher incomes, volunteerism, and charitable donations.

REXDALE HEALTH CENTRE

In late 2016 and early 2017, the Board of the Rexdale CHC led a process to update our strategic plan. We engaged community members, partners, staff and the board in different facilitated activities designed to learn more about our strengths, opportunities to improve and where we should focus our resources during the next 3-years. We collected 100s of ideas and organized them into themes. It wasn’t easy to select our priorities but we did it keeping the needs of our community front and centre at all times. We also used this as an opportunity to make the wording more clear, and to make our goals specific and measurable. We invite you to join us as we work hard to achieve our ambitious plan. We’ll continue to check in with you as our plan moves into action.
