{"id":1784,"date":"2014-09-25T17:20:18","date_gmt":"2014-09-25T21:20:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.successbl.com\/?p=1784"},"modified":"2014-09-25T17:20:18","modified_gmt":"2014-09-25T21:20:18","slug":"york-centre-for-education-and-community-ycec-summer-institute-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/changeprohosting.com\/websites\/sbl\/2014\/09\/25\/york-centre-for-education-and-community-ycec-summer-institute-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"York Centre for Education and Community (YCEC) Summer Institute 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.changeprohosting.com\/websites\/sbl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Ycec-conference-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1785\" alt=\"Ycec conference\" src=\"http:\/\/www.changeprohosting.com\/websites\/sbl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Ycec-conference--666x499.jpg\" width=\"666\" height=\"499\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Every year since it started in 2009, we have attended and brought a youth voice to the YCEC Summer Institute.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This year, we were honoured to be a partner and to sit on the organizing committee.\u00a0 Our participation included moderating and participating on the Youth Panel and the delivery of a workshop on School\/Community\/University Partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The panel was moderated by our Program Manager Kaneka Watkins, who facilitated an engaging dialogue among young leaders from the Jane and Finch community about what school and community partnerships mean to them.\u00a0 The panel consisted of Winston Luc (a former SBL Mentor), Princess Hoddiit (a current SBL Mentor), Fawad Habib (a graduate from C.W. Jeffry\u2019s, Walk For Excellence) and Dymika Harte (a graduate of Downsview, Walk for Excellence).
